The "Traditional" Method Of Putting On King Duvet Covers

It turns out there's actually a method to the madness that is putting on king duvet covers.

To put on your duvet cover simply follow these steps:

 

Step 1:

Lay your comforter out flat on your bed. Make sure the edges are pulled tight and it is laying evenly.

 

Step 2:

Turn your duvet cover inside out. Once you've done this, put your hands inside the duvet cover and find the top corners.

 

Step 3:

With your hands holding the top two corners of the cover, grab the top two corners of the comforter.

 

Step 4:

After you have ahold of both the sets of top corners, turn the duvet cover right side out over the top of the comforter.

Once you've done this wiggle and shake out the comforter until you have successfully gotten the duvet cover down most of the way.

 

Step 5:

Lay the two flat on the bed again and pull the duvet cover down the rest of the way. Line up the bottom corners and close the cover over the comforter.

 

The Martha Method

A quick rundown of this method:

 

Step 1:

Lay your duvet cover flat on your bed.

 

Step 2:

Take the top corners of your comforter and carefully slide them inside of the cover until you reach the top corners of the cover.

As you are going you should be evenly gathering the cover up so that it stays straight alongside the comforter.

 

Step 3:

Hold the top corners of the comforter and the cover together and pull the cover down over the rest of the comforter.

Once the comforter is fully inside the cover, close it up and enjoy your freshly made bed!

 

The Burrito/California Roll Method

Perhaps the easiest method, the burrito (or California Roll) method involves rolling your comforter and cover together. No shaking and fluffing needed!

 

Step 1:

Lay your duvet cover out flat on your bed inside out. Place your comforter on top of the duvet cover.

 

Be sure to align the corners neatly, if possible utilize corner ties to ensure a neat end result.

Step 2:

On the side opposite of the opening of the cover, begin rolling the two together like a burrito!

As you go along make sure the edges are straightened and even.

 

Step 3:

After you've rolled your cover and comforter together all the way to the end stuff the end of the roll inside the opening of the cover.

 

Step 4:

Once everything is inside the cover, close it up and begin unrolling it.

 

Step 5:

Roll out your now covered comforter and straighten things out as you go.
